The Laurel (Md.) Boys and Girls Club is long overdue on major renovations, but it needs money—approximately $2 million according to the club’s executive director. The building, acquired by the club in 2002, used to be a high school. Its windows are cracked or missing, some rooms go unused, and parts of the building are cordoned off for safety. The club’s unique location allows it to serve children and teens from Prince George’s, Howard, Montgomery, and Anne Arundel counties.
